Professional Service fee per party
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, fees are payable individually by each party.
Mediation fees are charged per person ensures the process remains fair, transparent, and tailored to everyone involved. Each participant contributes equally to the cost, reflecting the shared nature of mediation. This approach also allows us to provide the time, attention, and support each person deserves, helping to create a balanced and respectful environment for resolving issues.
The below fee schedule outlines the standard charges associated with Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) services provided by Alanna Leabeater of Family Focus Resolution Space. These fees reflect the professional time, expertise, and resources required for the effective delivery of FDR, including preparation, risk assessment, session facilitation, post-session documentation, and administrative support.

We offer an optional phone or video consultation to help you understand the Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) process and explore whether it’s the right approach for your situation. This informal conversation allows you to ask questions, gain clarity on how mediation works, and discuss any concerns you may have. It also helps us assess whether your matter is suitable to proceed to the next stage of the process.
There is no obligation to continue—our priority is to ensure the process is appropriate, safe, and in everyone's best interests from the outset.

This fee covers the administrative time involved in contacting the other party to invite them to participate in the Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) process. It also includes the preparation and issuance of a section 60I certificate, if required. The certificate is a legal document under the Family Law Act that may be necessary if your matter proceeds to court. Our team ensures all communications and documentation are handled promptly and professionally to support a smooth and compliant process.

The intake interview is a confidential, one-on-one session conducted separately with each party before mediation begins. Its purpose is to gather important background information, understand the issues in dispute, and assess whether Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) is appropriate and safe for all involved. During this interview, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your concerns, ask questions, and clarify what you hope to achieve through the process. It also helps us tailor the mediation to suit your needs and circumstances, ensuring the best possible chance for a constructive and respectful resolution.

This fee includes the professional facilitation of the mediation session by an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, as well as the preparation of any necessary documents during or following the session. If an agreement is reached, we will assist in documenting the terms clearly and accurately, ensuring both parties have a written record of what has been resolved. This may include parenting agreements or summaries of outcomes, tailored to your specific situation. Our goal is to support a clear, constructive, and legally informed resolution process from start to finish.
-
This extended session is ideal for more complex or detailed parenting or property disputes that require additional time to work through. It allows for a more thorough exploration of the issues, space for meaningful discussion, and the flexibility to take breaks as needed to support a calm and constructive process. If an agreement is reached during the session, we will assist with preparing the relevant documentation, such as parenting plans or property settlement summaries, so both parties leave with a clear written record of the outcomes.
-
Charged if mediation exceeds scheduled session duration.
-
If agreement documents—such as a parenting plan or property settlement summary—are prepared outside of the mediation session, a separate drafting fee of $220 per party applies. This fee covers the time and expertise required to accurately draft and finalise the agreement in a clear and legally appropriate format.
